After a few weeks of trying to cut back on junk food, eat more healthy foods and lose the weight I have gained over the last 8 months, I have been failing and resorting back to my old habits. I looked at the sorry sight in the mirror the other day and decided this has got to stop!
I’m just not comfortable with the size I am, it makes me unhappy and just feel down. I need something regimented and something that I can stick to, if I go at it my own way that is when I fall off the wagon!
So my search lead me to the internet as it always does, searching for iPhone apps, web sites and any tool I could find to help me to get into a system that works. The main problem I have is that after doing a diet I tend to slack off and just chuck the weight back on again. So I needed something with a rapid initial weight loss followed by a steady and lengthy system that gets me used to eating properly and also keeping off the kgs.
I scanned across a few diets and one kept coming up a few times, The Dukan Diet. At first I just dismissed it as another atkins style diet, something that wouldn’t help me in the way I need. I even found one called The Monster Energy Drink Diet, wow just the kind of diet I would love to have been possible, I love Monster but this just seemed like a wild goose chance. Later on my mom came back with a magazine showing me an article on the front titled “Lose up to 7lbs in 5 days and keep it off for life!”
Again I was a little hasty in believing that such a crazy claim could even be remotely true but by this point I was willing to give anything a read. After turning to the page I realised that this was The Dukan Diet I had been seeing all day. The magazine had a 5 day food plan and a article about what the diet requires to work. First thing I noticed was WOW! these are foods I would actually want to eat. It even had a nice tip for a tasty snack you can have that will help keep the hunger at bay!
So I did some research, went to the website and had a look. Within the hour I had found my diet! I ordered the book and started finding some alternate recipe ideas.
It’s going to take me a couple of days to get the ingredients I need for the first week and also get the book so I am thinking, be as good as I can till sunday night then monday morning start the diet.
I’m going to be doing as much exercise as I can and I will be documenting every major step on here.
Lets hope this works!
